Rotary Ghana welcomes the Rotary E-Club of Savannah, Ghana.

 


The Rotary E-Club of Savannah, Ghana held a formal ceremony for it's charter presentation, marking a significant milestone in the club's journey. The charter presentation and fundraising night was attended by the District Governor of District Governor Florence Maame Hagan and some District 9104 leaders, invited dignitaries and guests.



Addressing the twenty-seven charter members of the club, the District Governor admonished them to let the core values of Service, Fellowship, Integrity, Diversity and Leadership that propel the Rotary Wheel be their unwavering guide. She tasked them to undertake meaningful and impactful projects that will uplift and make their communities a better place to live.


Lawuratu Musah-Saaka

In her remarks, the Charter President of the club, Lawuratu Musah-Saaka expressed her excitement about the club's charter and the opportunities it presents. "We are thrilled to have reached this milestone, and we look forward to making a positive impact in our community," she said.



As part of its inception project, the Rotary E-Club of Savannah, Ghana plans to construct a community library in the East Gonja Municipal area of the Savannah Region. The library, which will be equipped with traditional books, e-books, and ICT facilities, aims to promote education and literacy in the community.


According to Charter President  Lawuratu Musah-Saaka, the library project is in line with Rotary's focus areas, under education and literacy. "We believe that education is key to unlocking the potential of our community, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote literacy and learning," she said.




The Rotary E-Club of Savannah, Ghana is part of Rotary International. The club's charter is a significant addition to the Rotary family in Ghana, which already has 69 clubs.


The club's charter night ceremony also featured the induction of two new members, who were welcomed into the Rotary family.



As the Rotary E-Club of Savannah Ghana embarks on its community library project, it is clear that the club is poised to make a positive impact in the lives of the people in the Savannah Region. With its commitment to education and literacy, the club is set to leave a lasting legacy in it's communities. The estimated cost of the project is GHC650,000.
