10th Ghana National Medical Excellence Awards Honors 83 Healthcare Professionals Across the Country


The 10th edition of the Ghana National Medical Excellence Awards was held in Accra, celebrating the outstanding contributions of 83 healthcare professionals from all 16 regions of Ghana.


The event was graced by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, who commended the dedication of healthcare workers nationwide. In her remarks, she urged professionals in the sector to foster greater collaboration, emphasizing the need to influence policy in ways that inspire the next generation to view careers in healthcare as a vital national service.

Hon. Ocloo further noted that such recognition not only boosts the commitment of healthcare professionals but also elevates the noble profession, ultimately contributing to the strengthening of Ghana’s healthcare system.


Speaking to the press, the President of the Ghana National Medical Excellence Awards, Mr. Dauda Aminu, highlighted the importance of consistently celebrating healthcare personnel for their significant role in saving lives.


Mr. Aminu also revealed that the Awards body has instituted a policy aimed at supporting 35% of healthcare delivery personnel as part of efforts to assist the government’s 24-hour economy initiative, helping to ensure its successful implementation.


The event underscored the critical role healthcare workers play and the ongoing efforts to enhance and sustain healthcare delivery across Ghana.
