Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn Leads Free Health Screening Initiative in Ablekuma North to Promote Community Wellness

In a remarkable show of community leadership, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn, in collaboration with the Ablekuma North Municipal Health Directorate, has organized a free health screening exercise for residents of the constituency.
The initiative, which attracted hundreds of community members, aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and ensuring early detection of health conditions among residents.
Speaking to the media during the exercise, Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn emphasized that the health screening program is part of her long-term vision to improve community health standards. She assured constituents that the initiative “has come to stay,” as it is designed to save lives and provide consistent access to healthcare within Ablekuma North.
Hon. Aubynn also highlighted her collaboration with the Municipal Health Directorate to ensure that critical health cases identified during the screenings receive appropriate medical referrals. Additionally, she announced a partnership with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to assist residents in renewing or registering for their NHIS cards for free, thereby improving their access to healthcare services.
She urged residents to prioritize their health through regular medical check-ups, assuring them of her continued support in all health-related initiatives.
Adding her voice, Mrs. Ethel Akose, the District Chief Nursing Officer (DCNO) for Ablekuma North, explained that the exercise extended beyond breast cancer screening to include general health assessments and health education. She stated that the initiative aimed to empower community members with knowledge on disease prevention and healthy living.
Mrs. Akose revealed that over 200 residents benefited from the screening, and several individuals who showed signs of health irregularities were provided with counseling and referred for further medical attention. She also encouraged the public to take advantage of free minor healthcare services available at public health facilities across Ghana.
A community member who participated in the exercise expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Ewurabena Aubynn and the Ablekuma North Municipal Health Directorate for organizing what she described as a “life-saving experience” for the community.
