YAWC Network Announces Landmark 10th Anniversary Global Convocation in Accra
Reported By Azaglo Michael
The Young African Women Congress (YAWC) Network has officially announced that its flagship Annual Global Convocation is coming home. To celebrate a decade of impact, the landmark 10th-anniversary edition will be hosted in Accra, Ghana, from October 25th to 30th, 2026.
“The Journey Continues”
Operating under the theme “The Empowerment Journey: Ten Years On,” the 2026 convocation serves as a critical juncture for the organization. Unlike a standard conference, this year’s event is designed as a high-level platform for reflection and strategic forecasting.
Delegates will participate in a comprehensive assessment of the past decade’s initiatives, addressing systemic challenges while defining the roadmap for women’s leadership across Africa for the next ten years.
A Continental Powerhouse Returns
After successful rotations through nations including Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, and Rwanda, the convocation returns to its roots.
The Accra edition is expected to be its most ambitious yet, projected to draw thousands of delegates from 30 countries across Africa and the global diaspora.
"The YAWC Global Convocation is not just a conference; it is a transformative movement that amplifies the voice of African women in shaping the continent’s future."
The convocation aims to bridge the gender gap in critical sectors through a multifaceted curriculum: Leadership & Advocacy: Building capacity to influence policy and lead community initiatives.
Digital & Entrepreneurial Excellence: Practical workshops focused on the digital economy and business innovation.
Strategic Networking: Connecting change-makers to foster a Pan-African sisterhood rooted in inclusion.
Mentorship: Direct access to established leaders and industry icons.
YAWC Network Founded in 2016, the YAWC Network is a premier Pan-African organization dedicated to the mobilization of young women. With membership segmented into national chapters, the Network champions inclusive development through the pillars of innovation, leadership, and community impact.
