Celebrated visual artist, architect, and Guinness World Record holder, Sharon Dede Padi,affectionately known to many as Padiki,has passed away at the age of 50.



‎"On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, word emerged that the visionary abstract painter passed away unexpectedly, plunging the creative arts industry into deep mourning.



‎Padiki was a towering figure in contemporary African art. She made international headlines by securing a Guinness World Record for the Largest Leaf Print Painting.



‎Just recently, her relentless spirit was on full display during a highly publicized 7-day, 168-hour painting marathon at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, where she successfully showcased 145 distinct artworks.


‎Beyond her personal accolades, she was a trained architect and the founder of the Padiki Art Gallery right here in Accra,a space she dedicated to uplifting women in the arts and promoting rich Ghanaian culture to the world."


‎"Tributes from fellow artists, cultural icons, and admirers continue to pour in, celebrating her immense dedication and legacy.


‎At this hour, the Padi family has not yet released an official statement regarding the cause of her death.
