Aburi Girls' Alumni and Rapid Courier Host 2nd Annual Free Health Screening for Students

ABURI, Ghana — The Aburi Old Girls’ Association (AOGA), in collaboration with Rapid Courier, the AOGA 1986 and 2001 year groups, and the Presbyterian Hospital in Aburi (KOM Hospital), hosted its 2nd annual free health screening and health talk for students at Aburi Girls' Senior High School.


Held under the theme "Empowering Her Health for a Future of Excellence," the initiative aimed to address student health concerns proactively and prevent critical illnesses within the school community.




Key Event Highlights

• Comprehensive Medical Care: Cynthia Akwetey, Administrator for the Presbyterian Hospital in Aburi, noted that the partnership expanded medical checks beyond routine examinations to include screenings for Hepatitis B/C, HIV/AIDS, and other vital health indicators.

• Essential Medical Donations: Rapid Courier Accountant Nana Sewa Prempeh announced the donation of critical medical supplies—including blood pressure monitors, IV drips, medical bins, sanitizers, gloves, and nose masks—as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). She highlighted that Rapid Courier's CEO is an alumna of the institution.

• Call for Infrastructure Support: AOGA Global Vice President Felicia Kumalo expressed gratitude to Rapid Courier and all sponsors for supporting the alma mater. She also appealed for increased support to upgrade school infrastructure, including classrooms, dining halls, and dormitories, to better accommodate the growing student body.

Students expressed deep gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing that direct access to free healthcare and wellness support allows them to focus on their academic pursuits in a healthy environment.
