I committed no crime to be summoned before the police - Mohammed Awal

An aspiring independent parliamentary candidate for the Medina  constituency, Mohammed Awal, indicates that he has committed no crime to be summoned before the police.

Mr. Awal made this statement after honoring an invitation from the La Nkwantanang Divisional Police Command regarding accusations of spreading posters of himself and the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the General Elections on December 7.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Awal stated that the people of Medina Constituency have experienced worse leadership from the MP in the last four years and called on him to rescue them.

Mr. Awal continued that he and his supporters are also enjoying the freedom to hold political views and opinions. He expressed his readiness to meet the current MP, Francis Xavier Sosu, in court if Sosu believes he is violating any law.

Meanwhile, some members of the NDC in the constituency have thrown their support behind Mr. Awal. The group stated that the constituency has seen the worst form of leadership since they voted in 2020 and accused the MP of failing to fulfill promises made during the last election.
