I'm changing the narrative on unemployment in GHANA ---- Jahzara Agyemang

Entrepreneur Education Empowerment Conference and Youth Job Fair 2024 to Address Youth Unemployment in Ghana

As Ghana continues to grapple with high unemployment rates, particularly among the youth, efforts to create entrepreneurial opportunities have become more critical than ever. Jahzara Agyemang, popularly known as Obaa Yaa Papabi, the Founder and Executive Director of Vince Memorial Garden and Education Foundation (VMGEF) and JTE Business Consulting, is leading the charge with an innovative event aimed at empowering aspiring entrepreneurs and addressing youth joblessness.

In an exclusive interview with Nation 1 News, Jahzara highlighted the pressing need for entrepreneurial education and employment solutions in the country. "The rate of unemployment is a bane for Ghana, especially among the youth," she said, referencing the CEIC 2023 report, which pegged the country's annual average unemployment rate at 5.22% as of December 2023.

In response to this challenge, the Entrepreneur Education Empowerment Conference and Youth Job Fair 2024, set for October 18th and 19th, 2024, will serve as a platform for equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge to become successful entrepreneurs. The event will kick off with an online session on October 18th, followed by a full day of workshops at the St. Giles Event Centre in the East Airport Area of Accra on October 19th.

The conference promises a series of workshops covering key business topics such as funding and sponsorships, branding and marketing, international taxes, and retirement options. Mental health and diaspora women’s empowerment programs will also be part of the inaugural event, making it a comprehensive learning experience for participants.

According to Obaa Yaa Papabi, the event is not only an opportunity for entrepreneurs to expand their knowledge but also a chance to foster crucial networking among business organizations, corporate entities, and students from various tertiary institutions. Major business organizations such as KPMG and the US Embassy in Ghana are expected to participate in the workshops, adding to the event's prestige.

Tickets for the event range from $30 to $120 and are available for purchase at www.egotickets.com. More information about the conference and its offerings can be found on the NGO’s website at www.VMGEF.org.
