The new year school is a practical learning workshop for philanthropy actors, NGO and CSO professionals to acquire core needed technical competency to run their organizations.
The sector is known to be a multidisciplinary and free space with a lot of barrier to entry.
professional development in the social sector is a vital tool for strengthening organizational effectiveness in the face of continuous change.
Government and the private sector,policy makers, donor agencies,to mention a few,all have a vested interest in seeing sector players become more knowledgeable in credible sector practices, emerging trends, managing resources, accountability and to achieve financial sustainability among others.
Philanthropy new year school has been map aside each year to seek to line up highly qualified and motivated professional from academia and practice to offer lecture to delegates.
The first edition was held in 2020 at the University of professional studies, Accra, while this years edition will be held at multiple locations namely, university of Ghana,legon, business school savanna signatures,Tamele,Kumasi technical university,Kumasi and cape coast university.

Speaking with the press at this year edition was the Chief Executive Officer for Groom Young Africa Network (GYAN),Rev.Azaglo Michael Fiakofi calls for more partnership amongst CSO and NGO actors in other to be able to strengning their capacities and this will also go a long way to relieve pressure from Ghana government
