MP FOR BEREKUM WEST APPLAUDED GOV'T FOR FIXING BONO REGION CRITICAL ROADS

 


The minister specifically addressed concerns about the Jinijini-Drobo-Sampa road, which was awarded by the outgone NPP government to Rango Building Construction Company. He revealed that there was no commitment or proper documentation before the contractor was instructed to clear the road. 


This, he said, was an example of the reckless contract awards that have burdened the road sector with huge financial commitments without securing funds to complete the projects.



He further lamented that despite Ghana’s heavy borrowing, there is little to show for it in terms of completed road infrastructure.

The Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Kwabena Kyere Stugard, expressed his appreciation to the Roads Minister for his swift action in addressing the challenges in the road sector. He commended the government’s renewed commitment to ensuring that critical roads, including those in the Bono Region, receive the necessary attention to boost economic activities and improve the livelihoods of residents

.


Some residents of Berekum West also shared their concerns about the negative impact of the poor road conditions on their health and businesses.
