The Devastating Truth: Ghana's Youth Are Falling Prey to Drug Abuse

The Chief of Amasaman, Nii Kotey Susubribi I, addressed the media on the alarming rise of drug abuse among Ghanaian youth. He expressed deep concern about the devastating impact of hard drugs, such as Red, Blue Blue, and so forth, which are imported from foreign countries and smuggled through the nation's harbours, and airports.

The youth of today are recklessly misusing drugs, often without medical prescriptions. This trend is not only destroying their lives but also jeopardizing the future of our nation. As leaders, we must take immediate action to address this crisis.

"I urge the incoming president, John Mahama, to prioritize the fight against drug abuse." He said. Nii Kotey said Ghana need a comprehensive approach to tackle this situation, which includes vigilant monitoring of imported drugs and strict enforcement of laws against smuggling of smuggling and importation of these hard drugs. "Our future leaders are being destroyed by these hard drugs, and it's our collective responsibility to act." He noted.

"The consequences of drug abuse are dire. Our youth are becoming weak, powerless, and restless. Some even collapse suddenly, losing control of their actions. We must work together to prevent this tragedy from unfolding further. I implore the new IGP to take decisive action against those involved in illegal drug smuggling." Nii emphasized that some of these buys ones stabbed his wife with knife as a result of the hard drug intake. "I know what I'm saying, I'm not joking."

"Furthermore, we must also be cautious about locally made drugs and herbal medicines, which can be equally hazardous to human health." He admitted.

He urged the authority of food and drugs to carefully investigate the locally made drug called Omama. According to Nii Kotey the drug Omama is one the dangerous drugs which is also destroying innocent lives. Nii Kotey was appealing to the Food and Drug Authority to scrutinize these products and ensure their safety for consumption.
