GIA Launches 2025 Insurance Awareness Month with a Focus on Inclusivity and Accessibility

The Ghana Insurers Association (GIA) has officially launched the 2025 edition of Insurance Awareness Month, under the theme: “Inclusivity & Accessibility – Purpose Beyond Profit.” This year’s theme seeks to reshape public perception and expand the reach of insurance services to underserved communities across Ghana.

‎Addressing the media during the launch, the First Vice President of the GIA and Managing Director of Hollard Life Assurance, Mr. Nashiru Iddrisu, emphasized that the 2025 campaign builds upon the foundation laid during last year’s awareness month. According to him, the focus this year is on transforming the industry’s narrative—moving away from purely profit-driven motives to a more human-centered approach that prioritizes accessibility for all, including market women, informal sector workers, and the uninsured.

‎Mr. Iddrisu urged insurance companies to embrace sustainable practices that prioritize long-term impact over short-term gains.

‎“Insurance isn’t for the rich or poor—it is a tool to create value for families, lives, properties, and businesses,” he remarked.

‎He further outlined a series of activities planned to mark the celebration, which will extend beyond the Greater Accra Region to major cities such as Kumasi, Cape Coast, and Takoradi. These activities are designed to bring insurance services closer to the people, in line with the government's broader agenda of financial inclusion.

‎The 2025 Insurance Awareness Month aims not just to educate the public but to inspire a shift in how insurance is perceived and accessed, ensuring that every Ghanaian sees insurance as a vital part of their financial security and future.
