Mother Care International School Leads Green Initiative in Accra with Tree Planting Campaign
Mother Care International School, in collaboration with Makers and Partners and Zoomlion, lead a tree-planting exercise in honor of Green Ghana and World Environment Day at GAF Critical Care & Emergency Hospital.
In celebration of Green Ghana Day and World Environment Day, Mother Care International School, in partnership with Makers and Partners (MAP) and Zoomlion Ghana Limited, has embarked on a significant environmental initiative by planting 86 trees within the premises of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Critical Care & Emergency Hospital in Accra.
The event, held on June 5, aimed to raise awareness on the importance of tree planting as a sustainable measure to combat the adverse effects of climate change. This initiative forms part of a broader agenda to promote environmental stewardship among younger generations while contributing to the national reforestation campaign.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Wilfred Naneh Addico, Advisory Partner at Makers and Partners, emphasized the importance of continuity in such initiatives.

“This year, our focus was to replace trees that were planted last year but did not survive. With the addition of 86 trees today, our total effort surpasses 220 trees. This is our ongoing commitment to a greener, safer, and more sustainable Ghana,” he noted.
He also highlighted the significance of community partnerships and the role such collaborations play in imparting environmental consciousness to future generations.

Madam Esi Ribeiro, Consultant at Dera Consult, described the tree-planting exercise as a transformative activity for the youth.
“This initiative is crucial in shaping the next generation’s attitude toward environmental protection,” she said.

Flight Lieutenant Dede Assasey, an officer at the GAF Critical Care & Emergency Hospital, welcomed the initiative, stating that the trees would not only beautify the hospital environment but also provide much-needed shade and comfort for patients.
“We urge all Ghanaians to plant more trees and refrain from indiscriminate tree-cutting,” she added.
The event also received enthusiastic participation from students of Mother Care International School. Headmistress Madam Peace Abasa-Addo expressed her appreciation for Zoomlion's contribution, particularly their donation of three waste bins to support environmental cleanliness at the site.
A student representative from the school expressed gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the project, highlighting the educational value and the inspiration it provided.
This tree planting exercise is a testament to the power of collaborative efforts in addressing environmental challenges and fostering a culture of sustainability among the youth.
