The Ghanaian music industry and fans across the globe are grieving the loss of one of its most iconic voices, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba. The celebrated highlife musician’s death was officially confirmed by his family on Saturday, July 26, 2025, following widespread speculation earlier in the day.

‎Initial reports of his passing surfaced as unverified rumors during the early hours of Saturday morning, prompting concern and confusion among fans. A close associate from his management team initially refuted the claims, calling for calm and discretion. However, the Fosu family later issued a formal statement confirming the heartbreaking news.

‎In their official release, the family conveyed their “profound sorrow and deep grief” over the untimely passing of the legendary artist, noting that he died after a brief illness.
