The Jesus Rescue Team (JRT), in collaboration with the Church of Pentecost Bongo District, has embarked on a transformative mission to address the growing challenge of youth addictions in the Bongo area. The initiative targets young people struggling with drug abuse, pornography, sexual immorality, and other destructive habits that have adversely affected their education and overall well-being.
The outreach covered key locations, including fire service stations, secondary schools, chief palaces, the inauguration of new churches, and revival meetings aimed at rekindling faith in the community.
Speaking to the press, Lead Missionary Michael Davies of the Jesus Rescue Team emphasized that their primary goal is to break the cycle of addiction and restore hope among the youth.
“We are committed to supporting this community to overcome the addictions that have endangered their lives. JRT remains dedicated to ensuring that more churches are planted here, making Christ visible and reviving lives that have been oppressed by the devil,” he stated.
As part of the mission, JRT donated footballs to the community, baptized new converts, and pledged to continue supporting the district until a significant transformation is achieved.
Missionary Davies expressed gratitude to all partners and appealed for further global support to expand their work and reach more lives.
The Paramount Chief of Bongo District, Bonaba Baba Salisu Atamale Lem Yaaru M, commended the initiative, highlighting the severe impact of drug addiction on the youth. He pledged to collaborate with JRT in the fight against addiction in his community.
“The future of our youth is at stake, and we must unite to end this menace,” the chief affirmed.
This partnership marks a significant step in addressing social vices and reviving faith in Bongo District, offering renewed hope to a community determined to rise above the challenges facing its young people.
