Aaron Anang Akrong Elected Presiding Member of La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly, Pledges Integrity and Sanitation Reform
In a peaceful and well-coordinated election held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA) officially elected Hon. Aaron Anang Akrong as its new Presiding Member.
Speaking to the media after the election, the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon Constituency, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that the Assembly maintains its enviable record in the Greater Accra Region.
She attributed the Assembly’s progress to disciplined, hardworking, supportive, and understanding staff, and expressed appreciation to John Dramani Mahama for his continued support toward the development of the municipality.
Hon. Sowah further called for unity and collaboration among Assembly members and staff to help achieve shared development goals in the years ahead.
Akrong Pledges Integrity and Reform
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Aaron Anang Akrong highlighted his decade-long experience within the Assembly, noting that his years of service have given him a deep understanding of the institution’s strengths and challenges.
He assured stakeholders of his unwavering commitment to improving the Assembly’s operations, with particular emphasis on sanitation and institutional efficiency. According to him, his administration will build upon the foundation laid by previous leadership while prioritizing integrity, hard work, and zero tolerance for corruption and illegal practices.
He urged members and staff of the Assembly to continue supporting him as he works to reshape the narrative and elevate LaDMA’s standing in the region.
The outgoing Presiding Member, Hon. Emmanuel Nyarko Baah, expressed strong confidence in his successor, stating that Hon. Akrong’s experience and dedication will make the Assembly proud.
He advised the new Presiding Member to allow due process and the rule of law to guide his leadership, emphasizing patience and fairness as key pillars for achieving meaningful progress.
With renewed leadership and a collective call for unity, the La Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly looks poised to advance its development agenda and maintain its strong reputation within the Greater Accra Region
