Ghana Launches Automated Fire Safety Compliance System (AFCAS) to Strengthen Public Safety and Boost Investor Confidence ‎


Ghana has taken a significant step toward strengthening public safety and modernizing regulatory processes with the official launch of the Automated Fire Safety Compliance System (AFCAS).


‎The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, unveiled the digital platform, describing it as a transformative initiative designed to streamline fire safety compliance across the country.

‎Addressing stakeholders at the launch event in Accra, the Minister emphasized that fire safety is not optional but a national necessity that safeguards lives, protects property, and strengthens investor confidence.

‎According to him, AFCAS marks a decisive departure from manual and fragmented processes to a more standardized, digital, and technology-driven compliance regime. He noted that the system will significantly improve how fire safety inspections and certifications are conducted nationwide.

‎The platform is expected to empower the Ghana National Fire Service to better engage the public, streamline inspection procedures, reduce turnaround times, and enhance service delivery for homes, businesses, and public institutions.



‎Hon. Muntaka highlighted that AFCAS aligns with the government’s broader agenda of leveraging technology to make doing business in Ghana easier while guaranteeing the security of investments. By digitizing fire safety compliance, the system is anticipated to eliminate bureaucratic delays and improve operational efficiency within the Fire Service.

‎He commended the leadership and personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service for their commitment and vision in bringing the initiative to life. The Minister further called on property owners, regulatory bodies, and the general public to fully embrace the new system, stressing that fire safety remains a shared responsibility.

‎Fire Service Assures Nationwide Rollout
‎In her welcome address, the Chief Fire Officer, Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, explained that the introduction of AFCAS will significantly enhance service delivery, boost revenue generation, and improve engagement between the Fire Service and its clients.

‎She acknowledged that the previous manual system presented numerous operational challenges but expressed confidence that the new digital platform will yield far-reaching benefits. Madam Ntow Sarpong also commended the Minister for his support and assured stakeholders of a nationwide rollout of the system.

‎The launch event brought together key stakeholders from government agencies, the private sector, and the Ghana National Fire Service, marking a new chapter in Ghana’s commitment to modernized public safety administration.
