The Minister argued that with the right financial backing and structural support, volleyball could become more relevant than football.
Shifting Mindsets: He emphasized that the current "lesser-known" approach must be abandoned to unlock the sport’s potential in Ghana and across the continent.
Infrastructure Commitment: To support this growth, the Minister highlighted the government's initiative to build multipurpose sports spaces nationwide to nurture raw talent.
He stated as a Call to Action for Media and Sponsors that Recognizing that visibility is the engine of growth, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams called on the media to play an active role in the sport’s promotion.
"If we change our approach, we change the game. We need the media to help the next generation prioritize volleyball, which will, in turn, attract the corporate sponsorship necessary for sustainability."
The Minister further revealed that newly generated sports funds would be specifically directed toward developing sports historically sidelined in Ghana, particularly as the nation prepares for its 69th Independence Anniversary.
In her address, CAVB President Bouchra Hajij congratulated Ghana on the successful hosting of the ongoing Zone III Volleyball Club Championship.
Marking her second visit to the country, Hajij praised the local energy for the sport but issued a formal request for increased government support.
She urged the Ministry to provide the necessary high-quality equipment and materials to ensure Ghanaian athletes can compete at an elite international level.
The visit signals a strengthening partnership between the CAVB and the Ghanaian government, marking what many hope will be the beginning of a "Volleyball Revolution" in West Africa.
