The Little Drop Lifeline and Muslim World League Launch Major Relief Campaign in Accra
Story by Azaglo Michael
In a powerful demonstration of interfaith cooperation, the Little Drop Lifeline Community Foundation has joined forces with the Muslim World League to tackle food insecurity and healthcare challenges in the Greater Accra Region.
In a massive food distribution exercise aims to provide both immediate crisis relief and long-term community resilience.
Mrs. Sandra Barnes Ofori, Founder and CEO of Little Drop Lifeline community foundation, characterized the collaboration as a vital expansion of the foundation’s core mission.
"Our goal is to create smiles by addressing the acute food shortages that affect our most vulnerable neighbors," Mrs. Ofori stated.
The campaign kicked off with the distribution of fruit and food packages to 50 residents during the Easter period, setting the stage for a wider humanitarian rollout.
Representing the Muslim World League, Abdul Manaf Yussif explained that a key priority of this mission is supporting families displaced by recent devastating floods in parts of Accra.
While the deployment faced minor delays due to complex coordination with government ministries and international stakeholders, Yussif noted that the wait ensured aid reached those in the most critical need. Supported by program lead Bashir, the League is now leveraging its international network to extend distributions across multiple constituencies in the coming days.
The little drop lifeline community foundation has announced an upcoming specialized program focused on Maternal Care, which includes:
Medical Debt Relief: Assisting mothers burdened by emergency caesarean section bills.
Essential Supplies: Distributing "baby starter kits" containing pampers, toiletries, and clothing.
Financial Aid: Providing direct cash assistance to new parents in need.
To sustain this momentum, the organizers are calling on the public, corporate bodies, and international donors for support. The foundation is currently seeking donations of:
Baby care items and pampers.
Gently used or new clothing.
Monetary contributions to clear pending hospital bills.
The atmosphere at the distribution site was one of profound gratitude. Beneficiaries spoke to the press to express their joy, thanking Little Drop Lifeline and the Muslim World League for stepping in during a difficult economic period.
By combining resources across religious and geographical lines, this partnership proves that community resilience is best built together. As the team prepares for their next round of hospital visits and food cycles, the message is clear: a little drop of kindness, when pooled together, can create a lifeline for an entire city.
