‎Ghana Launches 3rd Edition of TVET Report to Drive Evidence-Based Skills Development ‎

The landscape of technical education in Ghana reached a significant milestone today with the convening of the TVET Symposium 2026 and the official launch of the 3rd Edition of the Ghana TVET Report.

‎​The high-level event brought together a strategic coalition of policymakers, industry titans, development partners, and heads of training institutions.




Held under the theme “Evidence-Based Policy Making in TVET,” the symposium served as a critical platform to discuss how data-driven research and innovation can fortify the nation’s TVET ecosystem, ultimately boosting employability and national productivity.

Prioritizing Data for Quality Training
‎​Speaking to the press, Mr. Zakaria Sulemana, the Director-General of the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), emphasized that the 3rd edition is more than just a document,it is a roadmap for the future.

‎​"We are building on our previous successes with the specific aim of supporting policy-making and planning for relevant, high-quality skills training," Mr. Sulemana stated.

‎​He further noted that a major focus of this year’s report is the National Qualifications Framework, particularly at the Higher National Diploma (HND) level.

By providing clarity on these qualifications, the commission aims to better support learners and track institutional progress to ensure Ghana remains competitive on a global scale.



‎​Government Pledges Continued Support
‎​The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, delivered the keynote address, reiterating that technical education is the backbone of Ghana’s economic transformation.

Highlighting the need to prioritize technical vocational skills to see tangible national progress, the Minister pledged the government’s unwavering commitment to CTVET’s mission.

‎​While officially launching the report, Hon. Iddrisu commended the Commission for its consistency.

"The annual publication of this report is a testament to CTVET’s dedication to transparency and excellence," he remarked, praising the team for providing the necessary data to guide the nation's educational investments.
