In a strategic move to bridge the gap between governance and grassroots welfare, the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has held a high-level community dialogue within the Krowor Constituency.

‎The initiative, led by the Sector Minister and Member of Parliament for Krowor, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that no child is left hungry and no elderly citizen is abandoned.

During the engagement, Dr. Lartey highlighted that the community dialogue is part of a broader strategy to curb the rising rates of teenage pregnancy through intensive public education. However, the Minister noted that the intervention goes beyond the victims themselves.

‎"Our focus is not only on the teenage mothers but also on the caregivers, particularly grandmothers who step in to raise these children. By supporting the household unit, we ensure that young mothers can return to school or complete their vocational training, effectively breaking the cycle of poverty."

‎Dr. Lartey revealed that this advocacy predates her tenure as a Member of Parliament, reflecting a long-standing personal and professional commitment to social equity.

‎Key highlights of the intervention include:

‎Sustainability:

The Minister clarified that this is not a one-off event but a continuous program aimed at long-term poverty reduction.

‎Direct Support: To promote menstrual hygiene and health, Dr. Lartey distributed sanitary products to all women and girls in attendance.

‎Educational Continuity: Policies were discussed to ensure that teenage pregnancy does not mark the end of a child's educational journey.

‎As the Ministry continues its nationwide tour of social protection dialogues, the focus remains clear: bringing the heart of government directly to the doorsteps of those who need it most.
