In a major step toward community development and industrial harmony, the Groom Young Africa Network (GYAN), alongside leading Civil Society Organizations in the mining sector, has held a high-level roundtable discussion in Ada.

‎The meeting brought together key representatives from the Ada traditional leadership and management of ElectroChem Ghana Limited to align on common goals for the region’s salt mining future.

Speaking to the press following the engagement, GYAN President Azaglo Michael Fiakofi highlighted the fruitful outcomes of the dialogue, emphasizing that a tour of the ElectroChem facility provided critical insight into the operations and challenges of modern salt mining.

‎"The civil society organizations were able to tour part of the ElectroChem site to understand how the salt mining industry works and its challenges," Fiakofi stated.

‎According to the GYAN leadership, the engagement successfully established a strong mutual understanding between the community and the corporate entity.

‎Central to the discussions was ElectroChem’s ambitious ten-year master plan.

‎This blueprint aims to massively expand salt production in Ada—positioning it as a premier hub on the African continent.

‎The expansion is projected to significantly boost Ghana's national economy while directly addressing youth unemployment by creating sustainable jobs for the younger generation.

‎ With the backing of key partners, the Ada salt project is on track to unlock its full economic potential.
