‎"In a significant move toward transparency and mutual understanding, key civil society bodies recently convened with traditional leaders from Ada and the management of Electrocem.

‎The engagement included a comprehensive tour of the Electrocem site, providing stakeholders with firsthand insight into the complexities and operational challenges of the local salt mining industry."

‎"Jeffrey Alfred Ocamsey Jnr, Executive Director of Revenue Mobilisation, highlighted the meeting’s success in fostering a collaborative roadmap.

‎Ocamsey revealed that Electrocem’s ten-year master plan aims to significantly expand salt production, positioning Ada as a premier hub in Africa.

‎The vision is clear: to bolster Ghana’s national economy while drastically reducing youth unemployment through a robust, long-term value chain."

‎"Addressing the recent tensions, Ocamsey issued a strong appeal to the local youth: 'Avoid violence that threatens Ada’s future.'

‎He urged residents to embrace alternative income-generating opportunities, including local agriculture, and to engage constructively rather than creating an environment that discourages vital investment.

‎He further noted that the government could play a pivotal role in facilitating strategies that encourage community ownership and partnership with the right investors."

‎"Representing the traditional authority, Nene Lomo IV of the Lomobiawe Clan, echoed the call for dialogue. 'Peace and sustainability are the keys to successful investment,' he stated.

‎Nene Lomo IV encouraged the youth to bring their voices to the negotiating table, emphasizing that the traditional leadership's primary objective remains the employment of their people and the long-term prosperity of the entire Ada community."

‎"For his part, the CEO of Electrocem Ghana Limited, Mr. Frances Bohama, emphasized the company’s commitment to transparency. Detailing a half-billion-dollar expansion plan, Bohama announced intentions to construct a refinery for value addition and a dedicated port to streamline logistics.

‎'Our goal is not just to produce salt, but to make Ghana a net exporter in Africa and secure a promising future for generations unborn,' Bohama remarked."

‎"As the salt industry in Ada looks toward this massive transformation, the focus remains on balancing industrial growth with the aspirations of the local community.
