In a proactive move to safeguard the future of Ghana's youth, the Groom Young Africa Network (GYAN) has joined with the International Prison Chaplains Association (IPCA) Ghana.

‎
‎The  organizations held a critical engagement at Our Lady of Mercy Senior High School in Tema Community 1, focusing on a pressing issue: the dangers of substance abuse.




‎
‎ The campaign addressed the rising intake of illicit substances,including marijuana, cocaine, and the misuse of prescription drugs like tramadol,highlighting how these choices often lead to devastating consequences, including incarceration.
‎
‎Rev. Azaglo Fiakofi, President of GYAN, addressed the student body with a clear message:




‎
‎Confidence comes from character: He urged students to reject the myth that drugs provide confidence or boldness.




‎
‎The path to success: True confidence is built through personal development, consistent effort, and a dedicated pursuit of one's dreams.
‎
‎A wake-up call: He reminded the students that the choices made today have long-term impacts on their future.
‎



‎Rev. Fiakofi also commended the IPCA for this vital initiative, noting that changing the narrative for African youth requires intentional intervention.


‎
‎The goal is simple: to steer students away from a life of imprisonment and toward a life of purpose, persistence, and achievement."
‎
