ECOWAS Ministers Tour Kasapreko Facility to Showcase Industrial Potential ‎

‎"As Ghana hosts the 5th Joint Meeting of ECOWAS Ministers of Trade and Industry, the push for regional economic integration has taken a practical turn.

 High-level delegates today toured the Kasapreko Company Limited facility in Accra, marking a significant step in the mission to dismantle trade barriers and champion 'Made in Africa' excellence."

‎Ghana’s Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, led the delegation on a tour of the factory, which stands as a model for successful regional manufacturing.

Speaking to the media, Hon. Ofosu-Adjare expressed her satisfaction with the international reception, noting that the goal is to make Kasapreko’s success a blueprint for all member states.



‎​"We are showcasing what Ghana has to offer," she stated. "Kasapreko is an outstanding example of a Ghanaian enterprise supplying the entire West African sub-region. 

Our focus is to ensure that products move freely across our borders; the era of unnecessary delays for trucks at the border must become a thing of the past."  


‎​The delegation also included Hon. Alpha Ibrahim Sesay, who serves as the ECOWAS Chair for this meeting and is the Deputy Minister of Trade for Sierra Leone.

 He praised the company’s ability to scale, emphasizing the need for more industrial powerhouses to create sustainable employment for West Africa’s vibrant youth and women.  


‎​"We must do more to address non-tariff barriers," Hon. Sesay noted. "It is the responsibility of ECOWAS member states to ensure that homegrown businesses like this have the environment they need to thrive across the continent."



‎​Managing Director of Kasapreko, Richard Adjei, welcomed the diplomatic support, noting that his company’s regional footprint is currently hampered by logistical hurdles.

 He expressed optimism that the ministerial meeting would result in tangible policy changes to facilitate seamless trade.

‎​"Our products are already moving across West African borders," Adjei said. "We are thrilled that these challenges are being tackled at the policy level, ensuring that all West African countries can trade with ease."

‎As the two-day summit continues in Accra, the consensus remains clear: regional integration isn’t just a policy,it’s about empowering industries that fuel the African economy.
