Apostolic Church Ghana Launches Maiden ‘TAC Kids Got Talent’ Reality Show

The Apostolic Church Ghana has launched the maiden edition of _TAC Kids Got Talent_, a new reality show designed to identify, nurture, and showcase the gifts of children within the church.

The grand opening was held today through a collaboration between 4Fitmode Consult, the National Children’s Ministry of The Apostolic Church, and TAC TV.

Speaking at the launch, Pastor Joseph Akorfo, Leader of the National Children’s Ministry, described the program as a historic first for the church in Ghana.

“Today is the grand opening of this program. When we started, our leaders in the church were the ones who accepted it and prayed over it before we are opening it today. This is the first time we are doing this in The Apostolic Church Ghana. It has never happened before,” he said.

Pastor Akorfo noted that the initiative is focused on children’s potential and future. “This program is about our children at home, their future. What can we do to help them? We can see that all our children at home have potential and talent. We are trying to help them,” he added.

Lady Gifty Owusu of The Apostolic Church Ghana said the idea was birthed during the COVID-19 era, when families spent more time together at home.

“During COVID-19, a lot of things happened. We were on hold at home and couldn’t go out. A lot of people used that opportunity to get close to their children and do things together, which brought unity in the house,” she explained.

“God brought this initiative into my heart, and I called my brother to help me bring it to reality. He accepted it and said this is a good challenge. The children can shine.”

According to her, the team engaged church elders, the Children’s Ministry, and pastors, who all approved the concept. Proposals were drafted, organizers were secured, and auditions were conducted to select participants.

Lady Owusu said the show is intended to provide a Christian platform for children to exhibit their talents, instead of seeking opportunities only in secular spaces.

“Sometimes our children go into the secular world and do things that are contrary to the will of God. If they can do this in the secular world, we in Christianity can also do more than that. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it,” she stated, quoting Proverbs 22:6.

“This is what we are doing to help our children so that when they grow up, they will not depart from it. They can become good leaders, not only in the church but in society.”

Organizers say _TAC Kids Got Talent_ will be rolled out for a wider audience to highlight the gifts of children and the work of God in the church.
