Alice Frimpong Sarkodie, President GTSA

Speaking in an interview ,Alice Frimpong Sarkodie,Ms Sark,Administrator at Nobel Heights School and the president of Ghana technical student awards called on government to, invest more into TVET. :Once you invest in TVET, you invest in the country's developments and to stakeholders and to even industries" she emphasized. TVET, she noted   can create job and innovators for solution to Ghana's unemployment.

Added his voice was Ag. Vice-Chancellor of Accra Technical university, Professor Amevi Acakpovi noted that the  program is about promoting CTVET and the theme was on Spark Change and igniting a future of innovators and job creators.

"I think mainly we are looking at how we can improve our educational systems or the ecosystem completely to bring into the students, to bring out of the student the innovation, the creativity and then the talent that they have" he stated.

Moreover if our educational system is at the apex, then we have people who are very talented, who can transform the economy, who can make a lot of innovation and discover things. But I agree to some extent that we have a lot of innovations in Ghana" he stated

Proffessor Amevi highlighted that students and also the industry players and the policy makers. Now, today in today's speech we try to touch on the role of each and everyone, but mainly and in summary, educational system is to bring some level of reforms in the way curriculum is designed, the way it is taught so that we get the best out of the student. Rather than using the traditional method of teaching and learning,

"we should go for the competency-based training approach, which is a learner-centered approach, which actually concentrates or focuses more on students bringing out the innovativeness, the talent in them" he disclosed

Furthmore It's about giving students a space to experiment what they dream, rather than just pouring a certain knowledge in them, whether good or not, and forcing them to bring that same knowledge back for examination.

" Why don't we do like the West does by opening spaces, providing laboratory equipment, workshops and things, and then giving mini-projects to the students to innovate themselves and bring something out. This is why universities today, we believe, have to be supported with centres of excellence to pioneer this agenda" he stated

He further used the opportunity to praise organisations for such initiative by putting together something called the Makerspace, for instance Entrepreneurship and Incubation Centre that Accra Technical University is currently piloting. "For the industry players, we think that we need a deeper collaboration with them. They need to be part of the training of the students from the onset till they graduate" he indicated.

HRM Queen Vickylextar

HRM Queen Vickylextar, Omanye Royal kingdom (Canada) also added  The creativity is incredible and All everyone need  the right support and the right exposure.

"The prospects are there, the ideas are there, but we need to support them and find a way to get them heard worldwide. Alright, so your point of view when it comes to the entire program? " she questioned

Also the entire program today has been organized very well. And it was started on time, which is one of the things I found lacking in a lot of places she noted.

"So please, let us all rise to the call and empower TVET education. Let's preach and support the good news of TVET education'' she urged

One of the awardees, Christiana Akatore,Bogatanga technical university also use the opportunity to thank School authorities for such initiative to celebrate and support students.
