Concern Health Education Project and Partners Intensify Community Immunization Campaigns with Gavi CDS 3 cash support .

In a collective effort to strengthen public health through immunization, the Concern Health Education Project, in collaboration with the Ghana Coalition in Health and with support from Gavi, has stepped up its campaign to combat vaccine misinformation and expand vaccine access in local communities. On Wednesday, May 28th, at the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly (LaDMA), ten community volunteers were officially trained as part of an intensified outreach initiative. The training aims to boost public education, dispel myths surrounding vaccines, and support child welfare and nutrition-focused health interventions. The Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA) has raised concerns over the limited engagement of foreign developers in its ranks, describing the situation as a significant hurdle to the association’s broader objectives within the real estate sector. Over 250 Residents in East Legon-La Bawaleshie Benefit from Free Health Screening Exercise

More than 250 residents of East Legon-La Bawaleshie received free medical check-ups during a day-long health screening exercise dubbed “Free Medical Screening: My Health, My Life 2.0” held at the La-Bawaleshie Community Square. The initiative aligns with Rotary International’s Disease Prevention and Treatment focus area, a commitment that lies at the heart of Rotary’s #PeopleOfAction agenda to strengthen communities through improved healthcare access. The residents were screened from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the 24th of May 2025,for a wide range of health indicators including blood pressure, body temperature, pulse, weight, height, Body Mass Index (BMI), and tested for malaria, hepatitis B, and typhoid , all at no cost. PROF. PETER QUARTEY ON CEDI APPRECIATION

  Director of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER), Professor Peter Quartey was speaking on the sidelines of the Cash in Crisis in Africa conference organised by Maria Sibylla Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa, MIASA.  He attributed the appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi to a mix of both domestic and external forces. He explained that policies such as Gold for oil reserves and global developments including ongoing trade tensions involving the U.S and other countries have influenced the currency's performance. He commended the Bank of Ghana and the ministry of finance on what he describes as an improved coordination and increased transparency which he believes is restoring public confidence. Meanwhile, Fitch Solutions has predicted that, Ghana cedi will end 2025 at GH¢15.50 to one US dollar, with an annual average of GH¢15.30/US dollar.  Reported By Azaglo Michael 

AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL ON DEATH SENTENCES

  The reports focused on key insights into Ghana's human rights status, while the death penalty report highlights the progress of campaigns following the passage of the two bills, the criminal offenses Act, Act 29(1960) and the Ghana armed forces Act 105 (1962) in July 2023 with calls for a constitutional amendment to remove the death penalty in Ghana completely.
